Jacek Wlizło, Member of the Management Board of Qalcwise.com, Konrad Kowal, Member of the Management Board of Quickkly and Paulo Souza, Country Director of JOINCO Polska talk about how the no-code platform changed the way of programming business applications.
Qalcwise.com is a no-code platform for creating business applications. What does it mean?
JACEK WLIZŁO: In short, we offer our clients an ecosystem in which they can build applications to support any business processes. We are able to address virtually all needs in companies - from typical administrative applications, through operations support, logistics, to finance and front office.
The key thing about Qalcwise.com is that we are as flexible as traditional development, where applications are produced from scratch, and we are able to deliver the same quality. However, since we have a ready-made platform, the production of applications is much easier and takes less time - a few weeks instead of several months. This ultimately results in significantly lower application development costs – sometimes even several times higher. This is a real revolution. The project implementation itself is also more flexible and customer-friendly - we do not need a large implementation specification at the beginning, because we address the customer's needs on an ongoing basis. Ultimately, some of our clients develop the application system on their own, after transferring knowledge from us.
How do you create apps using the Qalcwise.com platform?
KONRAD KOWAL: The key issue is to build mutual trust and quickly understand the client's business needs. Thanks to the fact that our platform is a no-code platform, we are able to discuss the needs in a given area - department or business process - in one meeting, and within a few days I can present the application prototype to the client. Then we specify the scope of business needs and after a few weeks the application is ready.
In the case of our client Joinco, applications were first created with the so-called back office, i.e.: Holidays, Business trips, Home Office, GDPR. We started with elements that have the least impact on business - so that all employees get used to communicating in the system in the least invasive way possible. Subsequently, applications were created for Marketing, Quality and Logistics Department. The challenge at this stage was to implement on the qalcwise.com platform the specifics of the work of these departments, their cooperation with each other and the use of the platform for communication with external organizations such as suppliers or certification bodies. We are currently starting work on applications for the key Sales Department. Step by step, we are digitizing the entire Joinco branch in Poland and plan to expand our solutions to other branches of the company in Portugal, Colombia and China.
Do Qalcwise.com applications improve business management?
PAULO SOUZA: In 2019, we noticed that our organization was already large enough that challenges related to the flow of information did not allow maintaining the current stable growth trend. These challenges significantly intensified after the 2020 pandemic. We decided that for the company to continue to develop dynamically, it is necessary to move from disintegration to information integration. This meant digitizing the business. Of course, starting the transformation and digitization process was associated with numerous employee concerns, so we had to change their attitude and the entire work culture in the organization. Explain why we should carry out all these changes and what their benefits are for everyone - so that employees feel involved and take responsibility for the entire digitalization process. When it comes to Qalcwise.com, we needed tools tailored to the needs of Joinco and our specific business model. The ability to make corrections after the system is launched is also extremely important - changes can be made "live".
Digitization is a never-ending process that aims to make our work more productive and less stressful for each employee, and to make the flow of information in the company as efficient as possible, which allows us to build our business peacefully. The digitization of our company has made us become one organism. Finally, all business units can work on the same data in real time.
