During the first contact with clients, before they get to know our solution, we are often asked whether Qalcwise is the same as BPM? However, after just a few minutes of viewing our platform, everyone knows that this is not the case. The differences are visible to the naked eye.
BPM (Business Process Management) systems serve the processes themselves and allow them to be modeled. Thanks to them, we design events, define documents, manage their flow and supervise them. We can, for example, manage the circulation of electronic forms and information flow. Check whether a given process is effective and take optimization actions. BPM is often supplemented with BI (Business Intelligence) solutions, which allow analyzing data from the processes affected by the changes.
So what is our platform for?
Digitizing processes requires more than just optimizing the process itself or automating the workflow of tasks and documents. You need a tool that will allow you to manage the entire process - all actions, steps, but also the data itself - from their introduction to reporting. This is where business applications that automate all stages of processes come in handy - more complex than the flow of documents and events. Qalcwise applications, as their name suggests (Calculation-Wise), enable not only the design of the process, but also the implementation of tasks requiring calculations, in accordance with the workflow. They can automate tasks from every area of the company, e.g.: calculations and generation of commercial offers, calculations of forecasts and budgets, settlement of partner commissions, bonuses and retro-discounts, calculation of inventory levels and notification of the need to replenish them.
The advantage of Qalcwise applications is that, unlike BPM solutions, they do not impose procedures and structure. Moreover, any change in BMP requires developer intervention and system reconstruction. However, if the company's process works well and is properly designed, and we need its automation and greater transparency, Qalcwise is the perfect solution. Firstly, we can easily adapt the application to our needs, and not the other way around. Secondly, Qalcwise is based on no-code technology, which means that building new and configuring current applications does not require any IT skills. The self-service nature of the application means that we can adapt the system to changing needs without IT involvement.
What else is the secret of Qalcwise? In the way applications are built. Most no-code platforms provide ready-made templates and modules, not allowing for much modification. The creators of Qalcwise went a step further. They used commonly known spreadsheets, thanks to which we build applications using formulas similar to those from spreadsheets. They added the ability to integrate with existing databases and IT systems as well as functions for tracking document flow and communicating decisions (Workflow). These functionalities make Qalcwise an extremely flexible tool that is fully compatible with other systems (BPM, ERP, etc.). As we often say at Qalcwise, and this is no exaggeration, the only limit placed on Qalcwise users is their imagination.
